§ Lord EltonInformation on the number of district handicap teams is not held centrally. The establishment of these teams is and must be a matter for local initiative, but the Government are encouraged by indications that a large number of health authorities already have multi-professional teams for comprehensive assessment in operation or planned; and the implementation of the new Education Bill may be expected to give a further impetus to this process.
