§ Mr. Ernie Ross asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will provide a breakdown by sex of the percentage of university graduates entering the following sectors of employment in the past years (a) primary, (b) manufacturing, (c) services and (d) construction.
§ Mr. Waldegrave:Information in respect of graduates during the academic year 1979–80 is given below. It relates only to those graduates who were known to have entered full-time employment by 31 December 1980 or who by 31 March 1981 had made firm arrangements for such employment. For earlier years similar information is available in the annual publication of the University Grants Committee "Details of First Destinations of University Graduates", copies of which are in the Library.
