§ Mr. David Atkinson asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are his plans for a prison building programme.
§ Mr. Mayhew:Details of major place producing schemes, including six new prisons to start in the three years 1981–82 to 1983–84, are given in appendix No. 8 to the "Report on the Work of the Prison Department 1980"—Cmnd. 8228. In addition, there is an enlarged programme of repairs and maintenance over the same period.
