Mrs. Renée Short asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many dentists were working in the National Health Service in England and Wales in 1965, 1970, 1975 and 1980.

At 30 September in the years 1965, 1970, 1975 and 1980, the number of dentists in England and Wales providing National Health Service general dental services, excluding dentists employed by health authorities, was 10,405, 10,843, 11,737 and 13,039 respectively.
