§ Mr. Farr asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has received the report of the Institution of Environmental Health Officers relating to the illegal trade in unfit meat; and whether he intends to reintroduce the habit of staining unfit meat and knacker meat.
§ Mrs. Fenner:I have received a copy of this report. Ideas for amending the law, including the possibility of reintroducing staining in certain circumstances, will be put shortly to the main organisations concerned with a view to arriving at improved safeguards which take account of all the interests involved.
