HC Deb 23 October 1981 vol 10 c206W

Mr. Warren asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to receive the report from the Law Commission following its review of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861; and what action he anticipates taking for its reform.

Mr. Mayhew:

The law relating to offences against the person was reviewed by the Criminal Law Revision Committee, which published its report—Cmnd. 7844—in March 1980. I have since consulted a large number of interested bodies about the committee's recommendations, and am considering the report in the light of the comments I have received.
