HC Deb 23 October 1981 vol 10 c206W

Mr. Cryer asked the Prime Minister whether the rules governing gifts to Ministers still provide for the maximum value of a gift; what the maximum is now set at; and if the rules apply to spouses.

Mr. Whitelaw:

I have been asked to reply.

Yes. The rule allows a Minister in appropriate cases to retain a gift of a value not exceeding £50. This rule also applies to spouses.
