§ Mr. McQuarrie asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now introduce a lime subsidy for all cultivated agricultural land, to be available to all farmers able to prove the need to combat deteriorating soil condition resulting in a loss of production; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. Fenner:Grant aid is already available under the capital grant schemes for the application of lime when it is part of a grassland regeneration programme. Grants of up to 50 per cent. are available on hill land. We have no plans to introduce a further subsidy.
