Mr. Rooker asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many payments of compensation under the amended Land Compensation Act have been made to persons in the Great Barr and Perry Beeches areas of Birmingham; how much has been paid out in total; what is the range of payments; and what is the amount of interest payable under the compensation.

So far 176 payments of compensation have been made to people in the Great Barr and Perry Beeches areas of Birmingham who have taken advantage of the further opportunity to claim under part 1 of the Land Compensation Act 1973 as amended by section 113 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980. These payments range from £92 to £1,507. A total of £58,620 has been paid out, including £24,310 interest. Many claims are still being dealt with.
