Mr. O'Halloran asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many jobs in the Greater London area are dependent on the temporary short-time working subsidy.

In September 1981, 6,313 potentially redundant jobs in the Greater London area were included in claims that were approved for payment under the temporary short-time working compensation scheme.
