HC Deb 21 October 1981 vol 10 cc136-7W

Mr. Greville Janner asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether, in view of the decision of the industrial tribunal in the case of Anthony Simmons, he will institute an inquiry into the effects of the Arab trade boycott on the employment of Jewish people in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Waddington:

While the Government deplore this boycott, I can see no grounds for an inquiry into its effect on employment. So far as I am aware the case referred to is the only one in which discrimination in employment has been attributed to the boycott.
