However, it is estimated that in Great Britain, at June 1981, about 89 per cent. of manufacturing employees—defined as those, at that date, employed in manufacturing industries plus the unemployed who last worked in those industries—were in employment. At that date 29 per cent. of all employees in employment were engaged in manufacturing industries.
