§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether a prescribed amount of attendance at in-service training courses is, or will be made, a prerequisite for promotion for prison staff.
§ Mr. Mayhew:A prescribed amount of attendance at in-service training courses is not a prerequisite for promotion for prison staff. A review of training is to be undertaken in the near future which will examine among other matters the desirability and feasibility of establishing some kind of training criterion for promotion.
