HC Deb 19 October 1981 vol 10 c29W
Mr. Shersby

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to be able to approve the draft byelaw submitted to him by the London borough of Hillingdon concerning the flying of model aircraft in the borough.

Mr. Raison:

The London borough of Hillingdon wrote to this Department on 28 July submitting the latest draft of its proposed byelaws to control the flying of model aircraft in parks and pleasure grounds in the borough. These raised two issues of substance, one of which has now been resolved, and we wrote to the council on 5 October asking for its views on the other. Meanwhile, in advance of these byelaws being made and confirmed, the Society of Model Aeronautical Engineers issued a strong recommendation on 11 August that radio-controlled and freeflight models should no longer be flown at Hillingdon House Farm.
