HC Deb 19 October 1981 vol 10 c57W
Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his response to the Jay report and the Peters report on mental deficiency, with particular reference to the Tayside area; and if he will allocate more funds to ensure that the recommendations of the reports are implemented.

Mr. Allan Stewart:

On the Government's response to the Jay report and the Peters report I refer the hon. Member to my predecessor's reply to his question on 25 February 1981—[Vol. 999, c. 378.] It is for Tayside health board, in consultation with the regional council, to decide, within the resources allocated to them, on the priority to be given to services for mentally handicapped persons living in the area.
