asked the Lord Privy Seal what was the outcome of the meeting due to be held during September with officials of the Government of the Republic of Ireland concerning the delimitation of the continental shelf between the United Kingdom and the Republic.

Mr. Hurd:

The meeting between officials which took place in London on 24 September carried further the discussions on the modalities of the proposed arbitration. A further meeting has been scheduled for November.
