asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they will take to implement the recommendations of the Report of the Agriculture Select Committee of the House of Commons (H.C. 406-1) on animal welfare in poultry, pig and veal calf production.

The Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (Earl Ferrers)

The Government will respond to the report when they have completed their consultations with the Farm Animal Welfare Council and interested organisations.
