§ Mr. WaldegraveNo firm projections of student numbers were made for Cmnd. 8175 except in the case of home students in non-advanced further education. However, provisional projections for home students on full-time and sandwich courses in higher education were assumed for the purposes of estimating expenditure on student awards. These figures, which are for universities in Great Britain and advanced courses in establishments of further education in England and Wales, are given as following. The projections were made on the basis of provisional estimates for the academic year 1980–81.
