HC Deb 27 November 1981 vol 13 cc514-5W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish the details of the total financial effects of the proposed employers statutory sick pay scheme, showing the methodology behind the calculations.

Mr. Fowler

It is my intention to make available to Members of Standing Committee B on the Social Security and Housing Benefits Bill, in addition to the notes on clauses, a short paper giving details of the financial effects of the proposed statutory sick pay scheme; and to place copies in the Library.

Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish any additional information about the financial effects of employers statutory sick pay which was made available to employers during consultation which was over and above that contained in the published consultative document.

Mr. Fowler

The only information made generally available to employers was that which was published as part of the consultative process. Other information given in response to specific inquiries or requests for clarification concerned the methods of compensation advocated in the published documents. The points then raised are not relevant to the proposed scheme now before the House.
