§ Dr. VaughanPlanned gross expenditure for the NHS as a whole in 1981–82 is £8,219 million at constant—(November 1979)—prices. On the same basis, outturn expenditure in 1978–79 was £7,824 million. This represents an increase in real terms over the period of 5 per cent.
