HC Deb 23 November 1981 vol 13 c320W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in settling the block grant for 1982–83 applicable to the North Tyneside metropolitan borough council, he will have regard to the increased population of the borough shown by the recent census.

Mr. King

High priority is being given to the preparation of firm population figures from the census for use in block grant calculations. I regret, however, that there is no prospect of these being available in time for incorporation in the 1982–83 RSG settlement.
