§ Mr. MacfarlaneByelaw making powers tinder the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 are already used to ban motorcyclists from local authority nature reserves and from those owned or managed by the Nature Conservancy Council. For nature reserves owned or managed by other bodies or individuals, protection derives from their legal interest in the land. Highway authorities may make traffic regulation orders to prohibit or restrict motorcyclists from riding on tracks over which there are vehicular rights. Where tracks have no such rights, it is illegal to ride on them without the permission of the owner or occupier.
