§ Mr. McKelveyasked the Secretary of State for Defence why a number of Royal Naval vessels, including HMS "London" and "Hermes", are taking part in United States Navy manoeuvres currently being carried out in the western Atlantic and the Caribbean.
§ Mr. BlakerHMS "Hermes" and "London", together with two Royal Fleet auxiliaries, are participating in one of a regular series of United States Navy exercises in the Caribbean. It is routine practice for Her Majesty's ships to participate in exercises sponsored by allied nations in order to maintain operational effectiveness.
