§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the Government's attitude to the recently published European Commission report on minority languages and culture within the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. HurdWe are not aware that the European Commission has published such a report. The European Parliament's Committee on Youth, Culture, Education, Information and Sport has produced a report on a Community charter of regional languages and cultures and a charter of rights of ethnic minorities. This report contains a resolution which has recently been endorsed by the European Parliament as a whole. I understand that the resolution has been forwarded to the Governments and regional authorities of the member States and the Council of Europe. The Government will study the resolution with interest.
