HC Deb 19 November 1981 vol 13 cc227-8W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received from the Liverpool area health authority (teaching) on the restructuring of the National Health Service in the Mersey region; what reply he has sent; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Vaughan

Since the announcement of the management arrangements for Liverpool on 25 September, I have received one letter from the Liverpool area health authority (teaching) expressing its reservations about the proposed structure. I have replied thanking the authority for its views. Decisions on the new management structure will be essentially for the new district authority which is expected to meet for the first time in shadow form at the end of the month.
