asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of working days lost in 1980 and so far in 1981 through strikes.

The number of working days lost through industrial stoppages recorded in 1980 was 11,964,000. The total so far in 1981, based on provisional figures up to September, is 3,180,000.
