HC Deb 17 November 1981 vol 13 c119W
Mr. McMahon

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give assistance to local health authorities to ensure that hospital wards are waterproof, in view of the situation at ward 30 Southern General hospital, Glasgow, where rainwater is collected in pans and buckets during the mildest rainfall.

Mr. Allan Stewart

Maintenance of hospital wards in a waterproof condition is the responsibility of health boards, out of the money allocated to them for running the service. I have drawn the Greater Glasgow health board's attention to the hon. Member's concern at the situation in ward 30 at the Southern general hospital, and the complaint is being investigated.
