HC Deb 17 November 1981 vol 13 c76W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how many energy conservation projects operating under the community enterprise programme are known to his Department; how many employees are involved; and how many homes are being insulated by such schemes.

Mr. Mellor

The Manpower Services Commission is supporting 37 schemes through its community enterprise programme employing approximately 400 people on energy conservation work. It is estimated that these schemes will insulate up to 30,000 dwellings a year. A further 12 schemes have been approved by MSC and will employ approximately 150 people and insulate up to another 23,000 dwellings a year. The schemes are not necessarily concerned solely with insulation work.
