§ Mr. Peter MorrisonThe breakdown of the number of people given assistance under the employment transfer scheme in each year since it started in 1972 is shown in the attached tables. In 1974 the Manpower Services Commission took over from the Department of Employment responsibility for the employment transfer scheme. From 1 April 1974 to 31 March 1981 statistics have been kept according to the Commission's 18 employment services division areas.
