§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to improve medical practitioners' appreciation, understanding and treatment of the condition dyslexia, in view of the detrimental effects of late diagnosis to the sufferer.
§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergI am advised that this is an educational problem which relates to children with specific learning difficulties. The role of the doctor is to ensure that there is no underlying pathology and that a child suffering from this condition is assessed by the appropriate experts at the earliest opportunity.
