§ 29. Mr. Thomas Coxasked the Secretary of State for Trade what steps Her Majesty's Government plan in the light of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce's recent statement that if British companies invest in Israel they will be placed on the Arab boycott list.
§ Mr. BiffenNone. I understand that the statement in question relates to the proposed Israeli project to construct a canal between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea. As my hon. Friend the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, made clear to the House on 30 July, the Government consider this project unlawful in international law.
