§ Mr. Charles Irvingasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he has received from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs the report of the council's expert group on cannabis; when the report is to be published, and whether he will place a copy in the Library;
(2) whether he has any plans to introduce amending legislation to implement the recommendations of the advisory council of December 1979 relating to the reclassification of controlled drugs as urged by the council; and whether he proposes to take any other steps in regard to those recommendations.
§ Mr. RaisonWe have received this report. We are most grateful to the members of the expert group for the thorough study that they have undertaken. The report will be published as soon as is practicable, and a copy will be placed in the Library of the House.
In the light of the report, my right hon. Friend will be considering further the recommendations made by the advisory council in December 1979 on the reclassification of controlled drugs.
