Mr. Whitehead

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the total size of the advanced further education pool for 1982–83, as planned in Cmnd. 8175, at November 1980 prices.

Mr. Waldegrave

The Cmnd. 8175 expenditure plans for higher education in years beyond 1981–82 were not disaggreted between the universities and the public sector.

Dr. Boyson

The recent report of the Sickle Cell Society has been most helpful in drawing attention to the serious educational problems of children with sickle cell disease. However, each case will vary, and it must be for school doctors to advise teachers of the educational implications of the condition as it affects individual children.
