HC Deb 12 November 1981 vol 12 c164W
Mr. Pendry

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the future of gas supplies for Northern Ireland.

Mr. Adam Butler

As was explained in the communiqué issued following the meeting on 6 November between the Prime Minister and the Taoiseach of the Irish Republic, assessments of the possibility of the supply of natural gas from the Kinsale field to Northern Ireland suggest that such a project may be viable, and discussions on the terms on which gas might be supplied are now in train.
