§ Mr. AlisonIt would not be possible to isolate from among the many factors that have influenced employment since 1973 any which are solely due to our membership of the Community, and I cannot therefore offer a precise estimate.
I explained in my reply of 29 October to the hon. Member for Newham, South (Mr. Spearing)—[Vol. 10, c. 424.]—the basis on which the estimate of the number of jobs dependent on our exports to the rest of the Community had been made.
