Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state (a) the total number and (b) the percentage of promoted academic staff within the Scottish colleges of education (i) in the academic year 1979–80 and (ii) the academic year 1980–81.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state (a) the total number of academic staff who have left the Scottish college of education system within the past five years, giving the figure for each year (b) the percentage of academic staff leaving each year and (c) the percentage and number of those leaving who were over 50 years of age.
