HC Deb 11 November 1981 vol 12 c117W
Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received concerning the operation of the under-18 rule in relation to the Education Authority Bursaries (Scotland) Regulations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Younger

Since the beginning of July I have received 12 representations, including 3 from Members of Parliament and one from the Scottish Trades Union Congress, about the level of bursaries available to students under 18 and the stringency of the parental contribution scale. I shall take these representations into account in reviewing the level of bursaries for the session 1982–83, and the related parental contribution scales.
