Mr. Dickens

asked the Prime Minister (1) if, during the recent talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland, there was any discussion on the possibility of the formation of an all-Ireland Court of Justice;

(2) if, during the recent talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland, there was any discussion on the possibility of the formation of an Anglo-Irish Council.

The Prime Minister

I hope to make a statement shortly about my talks with the Taoiseach. I have now placed in the Library of the House the joint communique issued following the talks, together with the joint report on studies made by officials from both countries of possible new institutional structures, citizenship rights, economic co-operation and measures to encourage mutual understanding.
