§ Mr. MayhewThe arrangements for prosecuting offenders, including the right of private prosecution, were among the matters examined by the Royal Commission on criminal procedure. As I said in reply to my hon. and learned Friend the Member for Burton (Mr. Lawrence) on 7 May, the Government think it right to allow more time for discussion and consulation before reaching conclusions on the Royal Commission's recommendations.
