§ Mr. Charles Morrisonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what arrangements he has made for the review of the Control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations, 1980.
§ Mr. Giles ShawA joint review committee, whose membership will include representatives of the local authority associations, industry, the waste disposal industry and environmental interests, will be set up to consider the first 12 months of the operation of the Control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations 1980 and to make recommendations on any changes that are necessary. The committee will meet for the first time this summer to set up a monitoring system to ensure that sufficient information is available for the main part of the committee's work to be conducted next spring and early summer. Invitations to participate in the committee will be issued shortly.
