§ Mr. McMahonasked the Lord Privy Seal whether he intends to have further discussions with the United States of America as a result of developments in El Salvador; and if he will raise at the United Nations the possibility of international mediation.
§ Mr. RidleyWe continue to be in touch with the United States and many other Governments about the situation in El Salvador. International mediation could work only if both Government and opposition in El Salvador accepted it. We do not consider that it would be appropriate to raise the subject in the United Nations.
