§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he is satisfied with the level of support for the arts from (a) the public sector and (b) the private sector; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ChannonI should always like to see greater support for the arts, whatever the source. However, I consider the present extent of Government support to be very reasonable in the circumstances, and the level of private sector support to be encouraging for the future, particularly the growth in business sponsorship.
