§ Sir Ian GilmourThe non-recoverable 1981–82 cost of our contribution to the United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus, estimated on a full-cost basis, is likely to be £20.05 million. The United Nations Secretary-General commissioned a thorough review of the force last year, as a result of which some economies in our contribution are being made. These will not affect the viability of the force or the stability of Cyprus.
