§ Mr. RaisonMy right hon. Friend has put in hand a comprehensive review of the legislation governing taxis and private hire cars in England and Wales, with a view to producing a simpler and more up-to-date framework of control within which these trades can continue to provide their services.
As part of that review my right hon. Friend intends to issue a consultative document as the basis for discussion with the trades, the local authority associations and others directly concerned. He hopes to issue this paper shortly.
