§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to provide for the licensing of sex shops and sex cinemas and of their proprietors on a comparable basis to the licensing of casinos, public houses and betting shops.
§ Mr. MayhewMy right hon. Friend has expressed his support in principle for a proposal by the Greater London Council to introduce a licensing system for establishments of this kind in Greater London. His present view is that it would be sensible to assess the effectiveness of this proposed scheme before contemplating legislation to introduce licensing on a national scale.
