§ Mr. Freudasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of a pay increase of (a) £1, (b) £5, (c) £10 and (d) £20 per week is kept by a full-time worker with two children under 11 years of age receiving (i) the national average wage, (ii) three-quarters of the national average wage, (iii) two-thirds of the national average wage and (iv) one and half times the national average wage, after deductions have been made for income tax, national insurance contributions and loss of any benefits (a) now, (b) in November 1981 and (c) for each of the last five years.
