§ 23. Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he plans to restore the abatement of unemployment benefit which took place at the November 1980 uprating.
§ Mr. RossiAs the hon. Member knows, we propose to make unemployment benefit taxable from April next year. We have said that we shall have to consider the rate of the benefit, when it is brought into tax, in the light of all the circumstances at the time. That still holds good.
