§ Mr. Spellerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will consider reporting to the Competition Directorate of the European Economic Community any European Economic Community member country or organisation which provides special subsidies or permits import restrictions against British produce that defeat the objective of full competition within the Community.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerIf a member State operates a national aid or allows an import restriction in the agricultural sector that appears to conflict with the competition rules in the Treaty of Rome, I am fully prepared to pursue the matter with the appropriate part of the Commission, provided I have a sound basis for my representations.
