§ Mr. Peter Rees[pursuant to his reply, 24 March 1981, c. 287]: The revenue cost in a full year of abolishing the national insurance surcharge in the manufacturing, mining and quarrying industries in (a) the United Kingdom, and (b) Wales is estimated to be about £1.3 billion and £60 million respectively.
