§ Mr. WaddingtonPayments under the Act have been Made to 1,587 byssinosis sufferers and 196 dependants of356W deceased sufferers; the average payment to sufferers is £6,900 and to dependants £4,760. 789 byssinosis applicants—731 sufferers and 58 dependants—have been told they are not entitled to a payment under the Act.
